Get To Know Me
Hi there :) I’m Chetana (Chet-nah). I was born and raised in Nepal for the first half of my life then spent a few years in Switzerland before moving to the States. I moved to Hawaii right after graduating from high school in Baltimore. Now here we are in the middle of the pacific just poking away at people. I've been drawing, painting, and playing around with different mediums for as long as I can remember but picked up tattooing just a couple years ago. I think I have always known I wanted to become a tattoo artist but didn’t really pursue it until early 2020. I apprenticed under Dani G and Javi at Beach Park Tattoo for about a year and a half when I first moved to the island, and have been a resident artist here ever since.
I specialize in black & grey tattoos. I love doing anything from fine line to heavy bold designs, and lots of black work. I would love to do more custom lettering pieces and ornamental work as well. I tend to draw inspiration from my cultures, places I’ve lived, and people I’ve met through traveling. I think my Nepali and Swiss background influences my designs and the art I am drawn to quite a bit. Growing up in Nepal I was surrounded by art in all forms everywhere I went. The temples and stupas in town and all the streets were always so rich with culture and full of small detailed designs that I love incorporating into my Tattoos. Being out in nature, in the mountains always inspires my creativity.
My favorite part of tattooing is the connections I build with people and giving something meaningful to them. I get to meet new people everyday from all walks of life and sometimes see familiar faces come back. Ive had clients turn into friends and I am the most grateful for them. I want to be able to put beautiful pieces under skin that people can love and connect to for the rest of their lives. I am hoping to build more connections through my art everywhere I go, and hopefully leave a good mark on everyone who trusts me with their skin.
